The intellectual property office of Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs is cautioning PC OEMs in the country that a new Apple patent may expose manufactures that produce ultrabooks to patent litigation in the United States.

Hmm I don't know about US, but in Canada that would be an industrial design as the claim is "ornamental".

In any case, since the idea of being original has been lifted for the purpose of filing patents, who's with me to patent the following items?

• Touch screen as a user interface device
• Public worldwide network of computer devices
• Use of DC current to power electronic devices
• Transmission of digital signal using radio waves
• Resistive device used for conversion of electrical power into light (a.k.a. incandescent bulb filament)
• Basic mechanical assembly for conversion of one type of physical work into another type of physical work (a.k.a. simple machines)
• Human gait for slow travelling (a.k.a. walking)
