August 15 Will Be the End of Flash on Android The reports of the death of Flash on the mobile web have not been greatly exaggerated. Read more here: August 15 Will Be the End of Flash on Android | Hardware Canucks |
Good, hopefully we'll get more websites shifting to HTML5, it's a lot better, a hell of a lot more secure too. |
Flash, don't let the door hit you on the way out. Good riddance. |
But how will I play QWOP on my cellphone! |
RIP Flash |
I most certainly won't miss it once websites finally get around to updating their non-mobile websites (I'm looking at you STEAM with your "you need a specific flash version" message for all of your game trailer vids!!! ). Flash is specifically annoying in that the option to turn off auto updates / keep a background client running only appears to "stick" until you reboot the PC. I don't know how many times I've tried to turn off / remove the service and it keeps coming back like a bad penny...... |
The 'Jobs' was right I guess? |
This is going to cause a massive headache for a lot of site designers. A lot of sites are designed around flash even this site included and a lot of people will have to change from flash to HTML 5 and lets see how well that works. I personally hate flash but I don't think this is going to bode well. |
Yep Flash apk packages will be sideloaded for ages. |
And......nothing of value was lost. |
