Default Corsair Releases ‘Dominator’ Platinum DDR3 Memory

Corsair, announced Monday the ‘Dominator’ Platinum range of DDR3 memory kits, a follow up to its original ‘Dominator’ memory kits launched in 2006 to coincide with the release of the Intel Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad chips from Intel.

Speed is nice but don't forget that latency is where it's at. Not a single one of these new kits is CL7. I fail to see what the celebration is all about.

IMO they don't need to be cl7 when they are 2800 mhz cl of 11 is fine b/c the bandwidth increase will outweigh something like a 1600 mhz kit at cl7.

I don't know...RAM speed is hardly a bottleneck in modern computer systems. Getting 2800MHz RAM makes me think of Monster cables - a lot of gimmick, huge price, no gain.

But then again, some people DO have the money to burn so why not?
