Default Windows 8 to be Offered in 4 Editions
Late Monday Microsoft revealed details about the versions of Windows 8 it plans to offer late this year, announcing in a blog post that it will sell three editions for Intel PCs – Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro, Windows 8 Enterprise – and one – Windows 8 RT (formally known as Windows on ARM) – for ARM-based devices.

So they went back to the scheme when they released XP. Home & Pro and Enterprise.

Good. But lets hope in the Pro edition the Metro UI is gone.

Ah, but it's not just the tablet edition, it's the tablet, Xbox, and windows Phone edition. It's really only on desktops that metro isn't appropriate.

I would like to add that I hate the metro-esque UI on the xbox. >:|
(not that my xbox works atm, but RROD is a different hassle apart from metro)

Well unless they scrap the Metro UI for desktops, I know I will be telling everyone to stay on Windows 7 at work. I know there are people that want to switch but I think that switching will be a very bad idea unless Metro is gone or able to be turned off at the least.
