It's not that I feel maliciously towards mac users, but maybe this will shut their superior, self-righteous mouths (my father and several friends included).

The commercials said macs don't get viruses. Obviously this is all fake.

Guy: "Macs are better than PCs!"

Me: "How so?"

Guy: "They just are."

And yes he was infected. So happy.

I never understood that argument for Macs, since the OS is just a bunch of lines of coding just like any other. Only reason there werent AS MANY viruses was because it was not worth while to write malicious software for a small user base, compared to the much larger Windows user base. That and most businesses use Windows. Maybe now I won't hear ignorant people tell me how Macs don't get viruses anymore.

Every couple years something happens and half the people freak out and are "OMG WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE" while the other half goes "HAHA STUPIDMACFAGSGOTONEVIRUS I HATE THOSE GUYS"

It is just...

It happens!

Apple can be slow to roll out updates, this is true. but holy crap calm down they still have time to speed up. There are still very few threats. Yes, they do need to be on the ball in the future, buy nothing you say actually matters to them anyway.

Does apple deserve the negative publicity in this case? Partly. But it is a little extreme as relatively few viruses/trojans/othermalware gets this much publicity on the windows side of things.

Oh, hey, guess what? I was just today browsing the internet. I followed a link from a supposed-to-be clean trustworthy site of a sim hardware manufacturing company off to another site run by the company that made one of the sims that were supported by this hardware where once on the main page MSE pops up telling me about some malicious java stuff that it caught.

Point is that this shit happens, stop freaking out about it. No news sites went and reported about how the future was all doom and gloom and full of viruses because of what MSE found as I hit that page.

Get over it.
