iPads are disappearing from the shelves of retailers in many Chinese cities as a trademark dispute between Apple and ProView ramps up.

So, it sounds like they're a dummy corporation, but frankly, I don't care. Apple has really been pissing me off lately, so I'm glad to see this kind of retaliation. Leave it to the Chinese.

And in a few threads, a few of you have been making it sound like iPads won't be exported from China because of this. This is not the case. the trademark infringement merely prevents iPads from being SOLD in China. It doesn't affect manufacturing and retail in other countries. There will be no abnormal availability issues outside of China.

ProView was seeking a ban of exports, but now, by their own admission, it seems that would not be a realistic option.
