Eh, its a start but not sure if its the right move.
RIM needs to get their QNX or whataver their next OS will be out soon in the Q1 or even Q2. Having their OS released later on the year around Q3, will be suicide. Even then, im not even sure if that's enough to save the company.
RIM keeps coming out with the same rehash of the same phone every year.
And ive used BBM before - but i dont get what the big deal is. Yes, you can see people if they're responding to your BBM's, or read your BBM's and they ignore you. But that it.
I remember seeing shots of the porsche design BB and i was in awe. I really like that design. Now, if they design their future products like that + get their QNX or whatever earlier than Q4 - then they might have a chance.

And if its true that Mike is becoming a Vice Chair of Innovation Comittee according to that article - well, he's the wrong guy to be appointed that position. Why? He failed to innovate the company for years and he got that job?? Lol
