I'm a loyal Blackberry user and even I can see that they're too far gone at this point. They need to focus more on services and less on handset production IMO.

Still number one on mobile market share in Canada by quite a bit but I agree this company needs a shakeup. They are in a downward spiral and the last thing Canada needs is another failed tech company.

Rim still has cash flow, they just need some good ideas and a rapidly changing business model.

Only because of free/cheap phones and BBM. I see way more teens/preteens with blackberries than anyone else, and I don't know a single person over 25 that has one unless it's issued by their employer.

I dont have the stats but I would guess corporate use would be the only reason BB is still afloat at all. Not sure about your under 25 comment, under 25 know better..

As of June 2011 comScore reports RIM market share 38% in Canada vs. Apple 31% and Android 19%. Android trending up, RIM down, Apple flat line.

Well, I'm thinking more the under 18 group because generally they're getting phones from their parents and not a huge amount of parents are going to buy iphones and pay 50-100 bucks a month to keep them awash in data. It's easy to go get your kid a free low end crackberry with a minimal plan that just allows them to BBM and have some airtime to check in with home. Under 25 was just an ancedotal comment, I really don't know anyone that uses a blackberry other than corporate, kids, and a couple of early 20's people that have held onto them for BBM mainly.

People love that validation of knowing if their texts have been ignored or not lol.
