Hoping to replicate Hewlett Packardís success in creating interest in a faltering tablet platform, Research in Motion (RIM) has cut the price of all Playbook models to $299 until February 4.

So the 64GB one is back at the boxing week sales price again, with the 16GB and 32GB now priced higher then they were. I guess the only real "deal" here is the 64GB one. I picked up the 16GB one during the boxing week sales and rather enjoy it for reading ebooks (or epubs), allows me to video chat with my folks now (hurray.... they have one too now as well). I wish I had originally been able to get the Touchpad, though feel this is a nice alternative for the price I got it for.

I picked up a 32GB model when they initially dropped to 299 for my wife, mainly for reading books, but also for the potential of watching movies. My wife loves it, and I must admit I have been quite impressed by the hardware and OS. Obviously the Apps store needs work, but that's not really something I'm interested in at the moment.

They were doing this a couple months ago.... krazyups pretty much sums my experience with my own PlayBook as well. Android support can't come soon enough. Definitely not worth the original price of $500, but at $200 for my 16GB, well worth it. I'd pay $250 for it as well, but nothing more.

I have a HP Touchpad on the way and so does my brother. There were some great prices on Ebay before Christmas. You could get a 16GB Touchpad for $200 and a 32GB for $300. Sadly I missed out on them as when I got home from work they were sold out. I got a 32GB Touchpad with the official HP case for $350 off ebay.

Thinking of buying stock in Rim now seriously... I dont think this company is as screwed as many think... Or if they are, maybe Microsoft or someone will pay a premium to shareholders to get the patent portfolio....

Purchased a 16GB and returned it the day I bought it.
I had no problem connecting to the wifi but my phone would not install the bridge app.
Although my Bold 9000 is supported by the PB, the OS version of my phone is 4. Bell has an update to ver 5 but I need version 6 to have problem free operation. The BB tech support guy told me to change my phone or return the PB if I could not get v 6...
There you go.

You can install other carrier's OS onto yours. Follow the instructions over at crackberry.com.

Or modified OS's.
Also, the 16GB PB has been further reduced to $149.
