I wouldn't be surprised if he was fired or stepped down out of shame, the job AMD's marketing team has done... Well lets just say some undergrads at my university could've done much better.

AMD need a brand new team on many level, as ATI need a new team for driver dev. So it's about time the new CEO clean some of them.

This doesn't surprise me when they didn't know how many Transistors were in their BD processors...

AMD let a good chunk of their driver dev team go as well.

I'm not sure if that is good or bad, on the good side it means bringing in new people, on the bad side is those new people perhaps falling to the bad practice those who are left in the driver dev team practice and give us worse drivers.

Honestly I don't understand why peaple are shocked per say after how badly BD was promoted & hyped up by them & if anything his head should have been the 1st to roll for it.

As for this repeated negativity on how bad the drivers are ... i've never had a issue with them not working ... IF your sayin cause of the bloatware aspect of them I kinda agree. But as others have said .. bringing in new & maybe more efficient folks maybe will further streamline things or enhance what has been goin on.

If you ask me, more & more Read looks more & more like what AMD's needed for MANY years as it is. I only hope that with all the things he does it allows him to rebuild the core of the company as a strong futureproof/building company moving forward.

I'll tell you why I'm shocked with a very simple equation.

Bulldozer crashes and burns + Llano APU doing great + good sales of AMD GPUs = AMD's GPU / APU driver team and GPU marketing team gets the sharp end of the axe.

Does that compute?

Maybe so Sky ... but think about this .... what is amd's MAIN product that drives the company ... the cpu itself ... Bulldozer being overhyped n such = bad sales.

And lets understand something as well ... Intel isn't popular & sucessfull cause of just there product .. its also the massive amount of advertising they have pounded into the consumers heads subliminaly &/or otherwise. Amd's always lacked that level of promoting/advertising of there product.
