While we only know of a few forum accounts that have been compromised, all forum users will be required to change their passwords the next time they login. If you have used your Steam forum password on other accounts you should change those passwords as well.
Hrmmmmmmm...... obviously not a very secure server..... I would have thought that all forum software would encrypt password information.

Changed my password for Steam. Won't take any action on my registered credit card unless they come forward with further info.

Origin is like apple, a bunch of crap, that no one wants. No point in hacking it.

Edit: Luckily I have always made a point of not allowing steam to save my payment info. It is a real pain in the ass having to uncheck that box all the time though. I am still going to take action, better than having to try to get back $4000 from the CC company.

Edit X2: How sure are you that Origin, or any other large thing hasen't been hacked. Something about the sony hacks, and others that happened around that time, is that not all groups release what they hack, and the companies don't always know, or say they were hacked.

I think thats sort of the same argument as "Macs dont have viruses herp derp." Steam is several magnitues larger than Origin, same with the steam store and forum. Besides the fact that people hate origin, there is not that much of an incentive to target it.

Who says they didn't? Just because its encrypted, doesn't mean its safe!

Steam's gone this long without getting nailed.. pretty good track record so far :P

Just to play it safe I changed my password.

It happens, we would be naive to think we are immune to this crap.

Well changed my password, I pay through paypal so CC should be fine.

A little disappointed there is no mention of this on steam or an email to the account.
