Post MSI X79 BB w/Crayons

Quote:
MSI appears to have packed the board to the brim with features, in fact, it's so full that MSI had to go for an XL-ATX form factor. The Big Bang XPower II has no less than seven x16 PCI Express slots, although only two of them have 16 lanes worth of bandwidth, while the remaining five appear to be x8 slots. The labelling in this case is anything but clear, but Intel's new CPUs don't support enough PCI Express lanes for all the slots and we can see at least one set of switches on the board. There's also a set of dip switches that are labelled PCI-E CeaseFire which suggests that it's possible to manually disable at least some of the slots.

The board looks fantastic besides the heatsink.

does the round mean the board is gonna fired itself up?
I would prefer smaller board with less useless PCI-e

Regardless of bullet and gun shenanigans, that's a bad ass looking board.

Board layout looks great, but the bullets are ridiculous.

I thought crayons at first too, but looking at it again....

If prices don't get too out of control on the x79 board/CPUs I'm gonna go with an Asus X79 Deluxe.

Otherwise I'll sit on my Q9550 which is chugging away happily until Ivy comes out and turn my current rig into a minecraft server :D.

Expect 1366 + $100-$300 depending on how high you wanna go.

Its one of the best black themed boards i've seen. The 'ammo belt' heatsink is quite overdone and looks tacky. They should have just had a regular chipset heatsink to match the other ones. I cringe at the potential price of the BB.
