...this particular X79 board is also chalk full of PCI-E slots and includes native support for 4-way SLI so no more performance-hogging bridge chips need to be included.
I presume that is native PCIe 2.x not 3.0...? I always like the minimalistic look of some EVGA mainboards.

Only 6 SATA, only 4 DIMMs, XL-ATX, and the same ol' red really pushes me away from this board.

A big "meh". I hope they're going to make the cooling solution better though, it looks very cheap. Also having blank space on PCB always makes me question, what are they missing?

With the XL-ATX form factor, I would of assumed 8 DIMMs would just be common sense and 6 SATA ports simply isn't enough nowadays IMO, especially on high-end boards.

But that's okay, I think I'll be skipping X79/LGA2011 anyways

Due to NDAs we cannot discuss the PCI-E compatibility.

I am one for EVGA boards, but just looking at it and leaks of other boards this one seems very sparse...and lacklustre.

I hope this doesn't signal an end to EVGA's awesome lineup that we are all used to.

That is an XL-ATX? Ehmm, I am taking back my comment about minimalistic; there is nothing on the mobo, with 6 PCIe slots and it is XL, ouch.

EDIT:

They are usually late to the table and these board kind prove why.

Also, if the release boards all have what we want, how are they going to have the classified FTW version?

Edit: Oh LOL, they already are calling them FTW.
