Verizon saying apple will hider the U,S. economy and the development of faster network in the States.

My major gripe with Apple is they are unfairly throtteling development of new toys.

Have you seen if Samsung made any comments about their lackluster support of the Galaxy S? or if they plan on being faster about updating the Galaxy S II?

I have the original SGS and as much as I love the hardware, I just can't continue supporting their mobile lines because they have horribly slow software upgrades. I know there are plenty of homebrew Android versions, but you really shouldn't have to resort to them to get the latest updates.

Hey Nic, this could be your carrier's issue. I'm not sure how it is down south, but in Canada, I believe all 3 carriers have the gingerbread update out for their variant of the SGS already.

That makes me a sad panda. I can't switch carriers as Sprint is the last holdout for unlimited data here in the states. I'll do some more research and see how things are.

Ya, I was going to say, Up here everyone seems to be getting the updates as they roll out. I don't think there are any new Android Versions out since I got my phone, however I haven't really cared enough to look. I have seen updates go sour (read Motorola Atrix move to gingerbread) so I am leery of updates. Don't want to hurt the blazing fast performance I am sitting at now =P

That being said, seems to be time for apple to leave. Anyway, Microsoft isn't the only player on the market, there is linux 8-)

Maybe so however, someone may have determined that Android-based devices in total are a more lucrative business. Don't forget that a carrier's sales are not just a product of selling the top-end devices...
