Sad story, they should have stayed out of the tablet business. They have loyal corporate customers but in today's market their phones are not sexy enough.

The sooner RIM dies the happier I'll be without having to administer the myriad of problems their crapphones have every time one of my users tries to do something. This mornings fiasco, a bad update has crashed out BBM. It throws a java null exception error when you try and start it. The solution. Delete the bbm database, backup phone, restore phone and update. X6 phones another day wasted.
I just called Telus and told them to shove these. Getting Android phones for my department now. Built in exchange activesync to our corporate servers, and they actually work.

I would gladly have that added bulk over a Blackberry's cramped setup. I've used both, and the buttons are just too small for me on a Blackberry. If that phone didn't cost so damn much, I would have gotten it, hands down, instead of my Samsung Fascinate 4G.

And there is the thing for me, if you have small hands then yes I could see the appeal but if you have to use a stylus everytime you want to dial something then no they dont quite work for ppl with larger hands.

i think rim will survive or be taken over by someone like microsoft. They still have pretty good market share and loyal customer base on the business side. Playbook wont survive though, not unless they cut the price in half at the least

I think RIM alienated their loyal customers by going too mass market. If they would have concentrated upon cementing their presence in the professional market, they would have been ok.

As it stands, they ended up releasing shit that their core audience found abhorrent. The Torch? A tablet called the PLAYbook? A decidedly unprofessional app selection? I mean come on...
