This is definitely some good news for AMD. I was especially interested in the comment about being to hit 5 Ghz on sub $100 air or water cooling. I am going to reserve full judgement until reviews start appearing with performance benchmarks. I am liking what I see so far though.
Yeah something is up with the Forums today (I'm looking in YOUR direction AkG) so I think when it tried to merge them it all went Awry....

Ahh well it sorta worked,

Well, either way, if the cpu's they where testing where like the 8150's that are to be the top ones & @ a rumored $266 price point .... might be a very nice steal for those whom waited for a possible 5+ ghz cpu .... definatly making for a interesting sept/oct timeframe + 7xxx series to launch as well.

Yet we still wait for a performance per clock and performance per watt...and what really matters to me, performance per $. Atleast this is promising some good headroom for the design.

Of course we can't forget about the most important stat: folding performance. This thing could be a cheap folding beast ... fingers crossed.

Eldo, this isn't a Celron or Via cpu .... so your analogy/comentary view is flawed.

Like the next guy, I too would like to see the Zambezi chips perform well, however, aside from a marketing BS (trying to rain on Intel's IDF) point of view, any of these LN2/LHe records are not impressing me or telling me a thing.

Plus, what some of these previously linked articles (unless I missed it) failed to mentions is that this record was achieved only using two cores:

...but it should be made clear that only two cores were active which most likely helped to improve the overclockability of the CPU.
