I wonder what's going to happen to that entire stock Costco, BB, and other retailers are sitting on.

This isn't really a rumour as it was confirmed in an earnings call today. Further, they are axing the webOS tablet because it just wasn't taking off. It was a dud like the Playbook.

Is this still rumour or confirmed? Am in the market for a new notebook and was considering a few HPs, but may axe the idea if they are done with computers. I have a 7-8year old HP laptop that still runs strong as an internet box.

It's not because they head on other direction that they will stop giving service. I don't like HP product but their service is awesome and I am confident they will continu to offer service until the last warranty come to end.

on another note, it's a good thing that HP leave the boat of a market that have ot many player offering the EXACT SAME SHIT. it's only getting annoying for tech and for buyer.

From what I understand now they plan to spin off their PC sales under a different name/company so they can focus their attention elsewhere. Hopefully that will mean that warranties should be honored under the spin off company. I wonder what they will be sold as (Compaq?).

What about all the poor software engineers who will now have to find work making crappy bloatware for someone else?
