Odd choice since the memory market is very, very volatile.

Perhaps its AMDs way of trying to spread themselves out more to make more money.

On another note, are you aware your comment also has a second meaning (volatile Ram)

Look at the specs. 1600Mhz @ 11-11-11...I didn't even know companies still sold 1600Mhz modules with such loose timings. At current prices that would likely go for what? $50 for an 8GB kit? IMO, this is likely something that will appeal to certain markets and won't be widely available in North America.

I can't see how they hope to sell something like that here much like Sky said.
We can get much better dual sided dim's for probably the same cost as those,
Should be interesting to see what comes of it, if anything here in Canada.

From what I've seen, pricing has been extremely low on these modules, and I'm assuming they're just not spending many resources on the binning process to cut costs. I don't think I've ever run across any modules that can't run ~1800 at 11-11-11, let alone 1600. Which is probably very good for budget memory overclockers looking to get lucky and I think that's the intention.

I can see why then from that price point. Dirt cheap for those who need dirt cheap, and as ilya says, maybe get lucky with a good clocking set.
