Default Ati Radeon 3870X2 Benchmarks @ Tweaktown

Here it is:
It's an MSI 3870X2 with stock cooling etc..

I'm curious as to why they went with GDDR3 and if that made much difference to the benchmarks.

It most likely wouldn't change much if anything. Remember the 1GB GRRD4 2900XT?

Cheaper, I expect, and they really need a better core before they bother upgrading the memory. If these prices are right, it's a little more expensive then I'd hoped, especially considering how driver-dependent it seems to be.

I believe it's simple because it's cheaper and GDDR3 memory has been tested experimented with more then GDDR4.. who knows.. could be anything.

From what I've read, the MSRP is expected to be $450 USD/CAD ... Actual street price will vary, obviously ...

Well a GTX would beat it and they are selling around 400-450 so not worth it.

Hey guys, heres another benchmark,
As you can see from that, it totally owns CoJ Dx10 almost 10fps difference from the other competitors!
