Default vs gtx 580

The only advantage is see for this vs the GTX580 is that you can surround game on this solution, not on a single GTX580. For single LCD solution, if this is not significantly lower priced than the GTX580, there is no advantage.

Edit : pricing announced, 429.99 $

Can you spell FAIL

to expensive vs a normal sli solution.

For someone wanting a single card option it is still cheaper than 580. If you have a SLI board then you could just buy 2 GTX 460 for cheap but not everyone has an SLI board.

Well, on a plus, they didn't over-price it as much as I expected, although I would have liked to have seen this card selling for closer to $400, if/once they start to hit this card with MIR or sales, it will be well priced. Here I was thinking "hmmm you can buy a GTX 460 for $180, so this card @ $400 is a 10% markup, which is fine."

Edit: MSRP seems to be $180 CAD? Not 200 as previously mentioned. If this is true (considering many cards are listed for $200+ before sales), then MSRP over $400 is a joke. Still due to aggressive sale/mir prices this card needs to hit $370 after MIR to be competitive.

They would sell a hell of a lot more at $375. I was hoping for around that for a price point as you can get 2x 1GB 460 for a lot cheaper than that if you shop around.

For the price, I guess being able to output to 4 monitors from a single Nvidia card isn't bad at all.

I bought my MSI twin frozr 1GB for 184$ so at regular price around 400 for 2. The card is a bit to expensive IMO but not so far from the mark. Time might help.

Dear god.

You could buy 2 460s for that price and have possibly the same performance or spend a couple hundred more and get a 580.

True, but somehow my 890GTD isn't up to the task of Two card SLI.

So, yeah selling the 6950 for sure now.

Tempting to me also. I think there may be one in my future, will need a lower price though.
