Highs and mids still packed into a single, large driver on the satellites. Nothing special to see here. Much better 5.1 options already out in the wild.

I think that the better deal is to simply buy a set of Polk or Klipsch then find a receiver instead of using the Logitech... or to try and score a set of used Z-5500 XD

$550 CDN for what I am assuming will be a poor quality HTIB...... No thank you.

I'll take a quality 2.1 over a poor 5.1 for a PC any day.

What exactly does THX certification entail, anyway?

Good marketing. Nothing else.

Would an Onkyo HTIB be a better buy than this?

An Onkyo HTIB will be better than the majority of the speaker sets you can buy, especially for the price they sell them for.

I'm pleased with my Z-5500s, especially since my X-Fi Forte does an excellent job of delivering some good quality audio.

I am a bit disappointed though as I thought after more than 5 years, Logitech would replace the Z-5500s with something that has been improved on several grounds, like better bass.

Just another gimmick for suckers who want crappy sound!

Z5500s were nothing special ever yet everyone raved about them!

People have no idea what SQ is and the 5500s are not that.

When you say nothing, do you mean literally nothing or that it isn't worth it? Many will argue that having SLI certification on a PSU is worthless but they do actually have a few checkboxes they make sure the PSU has before giving it SLI certification. I would like to know if getting THX certification is just a matter of paying THX or if there is actually some criteria.
