Wow, I finally see a worthy successor to my T500. These new offerings are very impressive!

How they hell they would fit a 9-cell in the extra bay?

The accessory is a battery slice that goes under the laptop, not in the Ultrabay. Please do your research and stop interpreting marketing slides full of inconsistencies. I also forgot that since the T410 and T510, the Ultrabay battery is not available anymore because they removed the battery connector in the bay. The T410s still has it of course, being a different animal. Also, there is no mention of Ultrabay battery in the article the OP posted. It only mentions the optional slices.

The slice is already available at Lenovo Support - ThinkPad Battery 27++ (9 cell slice) - Overview

I've used the T,X and W series of IBM\Lenovo laptops for nearly ten years I must say that the battery life of most models has been exemplary and although the maximum stated battery-life is rarely reached they do come pretty darn close to it.

I would love to have a fleet of portables that are '15hours ready' and so I shall definately be taking a look at them with my rep. when the time for new stock comes around.

In this day and age it does pay to have business laptops that are more capable than they are small-sized as there will always be a need for more processing power.

The workers who moan about laptops being too big are generally the same folk who moan about them being too slow and when asked to make a choice they tend to ask for 'fast' over 'small' 9 times out of 10.

I stand corrected....but in conjunction with an on-board 9 cell, that will add almost three pounds to the weight of a laptop in order to achieve 30 hours.

On the website for the thinkpad battery it says that the weight is 1.4 pounds. I dont think it is too heavy, considering it will double the battery life.

It will also increase the height of the laptop for about an inch at the back.
