Design Flaw In Intel 6 Series Chipset Halts Manufacturing and Recalls Imminent
 
Intel has discovered a likely fatal flaw with its new released Sandy Bridge supporting 6 Series chipset, Cougar Point, which includes desktop P67 and H67 boards.

My co-worker just sent that to me.

I wonder if AMD is going to have an office party today... 700m is a big hit for one mistake.

Lastly i guess we will see people on used classifieds asking for Manufacter dates, as the release chips will now be less desirable.

I wonder how you are supposed to know if you have a board with a bad chip, manu date from serial?

Basically, it's a fancy way to say ALL of them, but their aren't that many because it's only been out for 21 days.

Jan 9th was retailer embargo lift, which is when purchases should/would have begun. Anything that was sold before then was still a part of the same batch, it just wouldn't have been officially sold, same with any engineering samples, etc.
