With the GTX 560 Ti launching at approximate $250, the card fills the gap between the high end $300+ GTX 570, and exceptional value focused GTX 460 at under... [ Read full article ]

Default AMD slashing prices on 6000 series!

It seems with the release of the GTX 560 Ti by Nvidia, they've reevaluated their market position.

6950's will probably fly out the door now.

I wonder if Nvidia will respond by setting off their own price drops?

All I know is...

We as the consumers are going to win!

This is not really a news. AMD have been doing this for the past few years each time Nvidia was hitting the war machine. But my point here is that AMD have what it need to stop price drop like that,. They just have to make some change at their driver devlopment team and keep on this way on devlopment and in not so long they can be a real beast competitor to Nvidia. Just my impression.

So price drop of how much again?

And too bad AMD still doesn't play nice with Folding@Home.

True, it may not be news for you , as every manufacturer in every industry lowers prices at some point.
However other people who are looking for an upgrade, or building a new system may want to know that they don't have to pay overly inflated prices.
So I'm posting about it.

Agreed, I'm an nvidia user myself for that reason; and also it looks like about $20-$40 drop depending on brand.
We should start seeing these drops at retailers the next few days, not sure if that is with/without rebates.
