Oh wow I actually talked to Rogers this weekend about getting the Captivate (Galaxy S) for $180 on a 3 year plan, but now that this is coming I'll most likely buy this and not get locked into a contract. As long as it as good or better than the vanilla Galaxy S, which I'm sure it will be :D

Honestly I hate the design of it. It looks too plastic-y, and if it's anything like my Vibrant, I'll hate the feel. The curviness is a real turn-off as well.

Yeah Samsung really needs to step it up and use some metal in their phones...

I like my Vibrant otherwise, and really this Nexus S seems to have the same major specs as the "old" Galaxy S phones. Still 1GHz Hummingbird, still 16GB flash, etc. This just throws in a NFC, curved screen, LED flash and Android 2.3. It actually looks a bit bulkier than Galaxy S phones?

It's thicker by .98 mm.

Personally, the only appeal of this phone is the fact that there's gingerbread on it. If not, this one would flop. Knowing Samsung, this will be the only device to get 2.3 at all. Sigh, at least CM6.1 is running pretty well on my Vibrant. That rom is fast.

DO NOTE that it won't work with Rogers 3G as it uses the AWS frequency.

I'll stick with my Captivate tyvm.

@headshot. Got a plan atm? If you do, give retentions a call. And the Captivate can be had for I believe $25 ($100 - $75 gift card) at Best Buy.

Yup,

The community was expecting a 1.2ghz possible dual core and more RAM. Looks like this was a pretty big letdown to the rumors, but it still looks like a really good phone. It just doesn't live up to the pre-release hype.
