You can buy this OR pick up a rocketraid 62x which works on ALL systems that has a free x1 PCI-E slot. Thats what Western Digital is shipping with their 3TB greens. ;)

If you're booting off a 2.2+ TB hdd, you have problems.

Am I not right in thinking that I could take one of these new 3TB drives and plug it into my system and use it for storage without issue as long as I use GPT right?

I mean like Sagath says why would you be booting off of a drive like this anyways?

Yes, no probs at all. This kinda workaround is for older preGPT aware OS's like XP. ;)

As an ASUS motherboard owner, I approve of this move.

The 32bit OS limit? Been around for ever but only recently its gone from "theory" to reality for non-raid users.
Think of this as just the latest twist on "64K should be enough" groupthink of the 90s. AKA the gift that keeps on giving! :)~

RocketRaid 62x has nix drivers. ;)

HighPoint Global website

Nice little kit (for what it is). It uses the same controller as the U3S6 but is only a x1 interface.
