the gtx580 with its significant temperature drop and power consumption drop + the new cooler, we could really have a dual gpu of the 580

Slapping 2x ~270watts gpu's on a single board... hmmm -.-

I doubt this is doable, but maybe we'll see something like a dual GTX560. (remember what the 295 was..)

The next year or so will be amazing for new products. The new gpus are 1, but watch for cpus, SSDs, and memory advances. A great time to be an enthusiast. Of course the bank acct will have cobwebs, but you only live once, hehe.

Seems like we're at a good period when there's no new games coming out that are hyperdemanding while GPU technology is getting better really fast.


Cheaper gaming laptops maybe? :-)

This is why you can't have a dual GPU GTX 580.

Disable GeForce GTX 580 Power Throttling using GPU-Z | techPowerUp

Just look at that power consumption.
