| SOURCE Looks like this is nothing more than pragmatism on Intel's part, rather than any defect in their chips.

The introduction of higher end parts usually has a lowering affect on existing parts in the marketplace. Intel has no need to do so since there is no comparative (Performance wise) part available that would pressure Intel even a little bit to release higher performing parts. Intel is just playing it smart. Show that they have the new goods but don't release them as yet to milk the retail/wholesale available parts longer. |

Suprised to see so many against AMD. Without them, intel's prices would be MUCH higher. And if they don't released some good quads soon, we won't be seeing cheap quads for a VERY long time.

| Dailytech Article Well, there you have it, folks. The quad-cores have an "errata" in them that could degrade long-term stability. Fortunately, this errata isn't found in the $1000+ Extreme quad-cores, or the Xeons. Or, amazingly enough, in the dual-cores that you'd expect the Quad-cores to possess two of... ...yeah.
