Default Kingston Launching Limited Edition DDR3-1600 HyperX Memory
Kingston is forgoing its typical blue HyperX design to launch a limited edition run of 4GB PC3-12800 memory kit with black heatspreaders.

The KHX1600C9D3X1K2/4G features two 2GB modules at speeds of 1600 MHz, CL9 timings at 9-9-9-24 and a DRAM voltage of 1.65v, allowing it to work with both Core i5 & i7 systems.Expected retail price is ?75.

Is it just me, or is this the lamest "Limited Edition" memory that's come out in a while? This wasn't accidently a press release from a year or two ago, was it?

Ummmm yeah.... CL9 @ 1600 w/ 1.65V???? WTF makes that a special set of sticks other than the fact that it's black and says "limited edition" on it?????

I second the suggestion to check the date on that press release..... ;)

edit: Although, what's a euro worth these days? Is it 2.5X (like the pound was) or is it closer to 1X? If it's 1X then sub-$100 isn't that bad pricewise......

Well, not all their sticks say "Limited Edition" on them, only a few thousand and only for so long... so I guess "technically" they are limited editions?

They may use a different colour, but that doesn't justifiy a "limited edition". If that's how we judge limited editions, G Skill and OCZ have crapped out limited editions out like crazy.

Would be nice from kingston to have more color in their pocket. The black is nice but the silver thing that stick the heatspreader on the ram is just ugly...Would have been nice without these, more like G.skill design.
