More heat and power consumption? You know I had to go there. Hopefully this new card from NV is just as good in the price/performance department as the new 6 series cards. Good times to be buying a new vid card.

No mock ups with wood screws this time? Just 'accidentally' listing?

Nvidia, I am disappoint.

From the screen shot, all I see is that nVidia may release a card with a name of GTX 580. The only thing I can be somewhat certain of is that they won't just rebadge an older card (imagine the heat produced by an OC'd GTX 480 with more memory added).

I wonder if it'll be a dual gpu. That would be so awesome haha, but I highly doubt that if the GF110 is really based on the GF100 - if it were based on the GF104 that would be a different story however.

You got to take into account companies like these plan there technology 5 years in advance of anything else for example what they are working on right now wont be out until 2015. Its business strategy...Hence why they did this after AMD said they have 6850 and 70's coming out.

@unregistered

not entirely true, If they already have the 6850's why doesnt the company itself use them?

Im sure they only had the IDEA of it back then.

If they already had the cards then they could of made GDDR5 by like 2005

Same thing for NVIDIA, I remember when they released the thing like fermi maxwell n all they're only planning it and maxwell or whatever that one was will NOT be 10x faster than fermi by 2014. in fact it could be either faster or slower. anything can change in matter of years.

Back in the 80's a 1GB hard drive was probably a size of a small garage and was worth millons and the scientists back then said it was impossible to make it smaller. What do u know, now we got 2500GB hard drives. Like i said somewhere in this statement, right now they could think it will be 10x better but as new technology comes out the chip could even become 100x better.

Try to understand plz idk what i wrote, (whatever came out of my mind actually)

NVIDIA always did have a better marketing tactic than AMD/ATI, people know what to expect and that something is coming. I remember for the GTX 480 launch even some of their employees were tweeting about leaks

People are still surprised that AMD launched a new video card last week. Unless you are a regular tech junky it basically passed everyone by because AMD tried to keep such a tight lid on the whole shindig. I don't think they quite understand the idea behind hype and marketing yet. Then again, it always seems like the least hyped stuff always turns out to be the best
The reverse is true as well. I bought a HIS Radeon HD 2950 card on the first day of sale, and was very disappointed. It looked great, but never lived up to the hype.
