reason for which when you see old dan here pull his cards and up for sale? be quick and dont think about it.

the permanent pricing drop is interesting, as it underlines the fear of the new 6 series mid rangers.

Part of the reason there is no drop on the 480's is simply because there isn't a pile of them left in retailers inventories, NCIX shows only Asus and PNY in stock for example (ooops, I'm wrong, they also have Gigabyte and EVGA SC'd...sorry) . The higher stocks of 460's and 470's have to go, as SKY said, to be ready for the next series before xmas.

That's what I spent after taxes and shipping, but that was almost 6 months ago and I got the $30MIR 3 months back.

It's about time the price dropped, but even then after taxes it's still $295 for the 470.
Stupid HST.

very. the 30 dollar mir that nv is applying now should've been instant rebates starting a good 30-45 days ago. then the people who got those cards would've not bought these amd ones today, tomorrow, next week....;)

After reading the AMD 6800 series reviews, do you guys think NVIDIA dropped the price of their GPUs enough to stop people from buying AMD's new GPUs?

Definitely Geo! The 6870 cost only $20-30 more than the 1GB GTX 460 but the 6870 pwns it a lot...
