It supports the new dualcore and quadcore 45nm chips. Releasing a new board just for PCIe 2.0 support ain't very smart. I was thinkin' about paying the $90 to upgrade but, 1) $90 is a ripe off, 2) Getting this just for 45nm quadcore support is a stupid thing to do.

well eventually we're going to all want 45nm support, and 90 bucks for what will ikely be a decent ocer is pretty good- I suspect that the intel x48 chipsets will be better at overclocking them though and if one is waiting for quite a while to go 45nm, then it probably isn't worth it. crossfire is showing good promise as well.

I think it would be better just to buy a 780i and then sell the 680i so this way you won't loose the use of your computer like I would and there won't be the chance of paying duty or any brokerage fees.

Ohhh man....why didn't I buy EVGA....My %&* had to go with Asus! Oh well....maybe Santa will bring me something nice! You gotta see the 780i as the new and improved 680i with some new & extra features, so if I had one I would do it for sure!

780i offers so little over the 680i that Nvidia should be ashamed to even offer it as a new board. If I were you guys, I'd let the people willing to be experimented on get them for now since they are nothing but a warmed over 680i. It's almost like Nvidia wants people to go Crossfire since it is maturing at a much higher rate and far outperforming SLI. If we could just get some high end ATI cards..........
