Default The Commodore 64 Is Back!

I was absolutely stoked when I saw this bit of nostalgia news! It seems we'll be seeing Intel Atom PC's housed in completely original C64 cases available very soon. This is an old-school techies dream! Even better is that the hardware spec's listed sound like they'd be perfect for an in-home office environment.

Quoted from engadget:
Quote:
Intel Atom-powered PC featuring 4GB DDR3 memory, SATA 1TB HDD, HDMI output, optical drive (either DVD/CD or optional Blu-ray), and more -- all in "an exact replica" of the original beige C64 chassis.

I still have my C64C stowed away in the basement. Lots of great memories with the games I played on it.
Found a video showing 100 c64 games in 10 mins:

Although I have some great memories on the C64... I have zero desire to own this thing. It's still as fugly as ever.

Was the dataset just a fancy package for an off-the-shelf cassette player? The CoCo used tapes, but most of us just picked up a standard cassette player and messed with the output levels to get it to work....

I was never a C64 owner... went the Tandy route instead. (Rainbow magazine rocked!!!!! ;) ).
