Okay on topic.
This is a laptop.... so powerful.... :dots:  :blarg:
the mobile version is never as powerfull as the desktop one, so by labeling it a 480 ppl will think its the holly grail :)

Agreed dang. Wouldn't it be sweet to carry around though. You would soon look like the guy with one huge arm in the tv commercial, lol.
If they could make a laptop as good as a desktop I'd be all over it. This one comes close, but price? Insane. Arm/leg/left walnut.hehe
that thing is huge, 1 hour battery life. Should be called a portable computer not a laptop.
Nvidia Unleashes New Fermi Chip, GeForce GTX 480M Mobile Solution - X-bit labs
Nvidia GeForce GTX 480M seems to be based on the code-named GF104 processor, which is a cut down version of the original GF100 first shown in September, 2009. The new chip sports 352 stream processors (SPs), 44 texture units (TUs), 32 render back ends (RBEs), 256-bit memory controller along with advanced feature-set. Thanks to decreased complexity of the GF104 processor compared to the predecessor, the new GPU can operate at 850MHz, a rather unprecedented speed for the GF100. Nvidia did not declare thermal design power of the new solution, but earlier reports suggested that the TDP of the model GTX 480M is about 100W.

gf100 in a laptop? good god
Yep that looks about the size as our mech eng design laptops we get from dell. They are huge, have massive power bricks, massive batteries, weigh quite a bit but man can they compute.
That has got to be one of the biggest laptops I have ever seen and so will the price tag with it sporting a $1000 cpu and dual graphic cards. This is like a desktop replacement laptop not really meant to be moved like a regular laptop almost 12 pounds but portable enough to be brought somewhere near a wall outlet lol. I think they should have put a 20'' screen it's not like this thing is meant to be power efficient, light weight, compact, or low cost. This is cool but if I had that much money I would rather build a 980x desktop with dual 480's.
I went on and configured my dream setup of the laptop( basically the most exspensive options) and the price tag hit 18,800 dollars. Also if they could mod a 360 and a ps3 into semi portable form wouldn't it be possible with a smaller form factor pc?
I believe you meant "desktop" replacement.
Say portable computer instead of laptop makes you sound like a retard who doesn't know the difference between ethernet and internet.
