I thought BFG was Nvidias best friend? What happened? So sad.

PNY and Sparkle are still there but no BFG? This is crazy.

XFX jumped Nvidia ship. More like Nvidia dumped XFX when XFX became a ATi premium vendor along with Sapphire.

Maybe BFG can replace Powercolor as I've heard nightmares about their products.

i think xfx either chose not to, or was 'punished' for picking up the red teams chips on their pcbs.

evga and the like are doing a killing, and its not like there were wayy too many 470/480 sold(actually available) with the demand that high.

I guess that explains the gs550 that was on sale for $30 without a mir... reality is harsh. Maybe lifetime warranties need warranties now...

The reason the GS550 was on sale for such a low price is mainly because it's a pretty crappy PSU.

No, Jonny's said that the sequence was actually the other way around. BFG stopped working on new designs, which was his area as a product manager. With no new products to manage, he was just handling inventory -- a job well below the qualifications (and wage bracket) of a product manager.

That said, a thought occurs to me: a fair number of HWC reviews highlight warranties. It might be advisable to edit any which refer to currently sold products to reflect the new reality of BFG's warranty, or lack thereof.

This is not the case. Although lack of GTX400 allocation had a lot to do with BFG's demise, your assessment is far too general.

Ouch. Hate to see BFG go. They're one of my favourite NVIDIA companies. Now my 9600GT is warranty-less. Time to find an excuse to upgrade? =D
