Shame it isn't fully modular.

EDIT: And shame on you Antec for continuing to put a whopping 5 modular connectors on a 1200W PSU. What are these guys thinking?

Antec has a serious mental block on how they do modular connections. Their approach is a "Remove some cables if you don't them", rather than "add extra cables as needed". I still like how my Ultra X3 does it - more modular cables than hookups, so you could pick exactly which cables/number of connectors on each that you need for the build.

I'm a little shocked that they're actually letting people adjust the fan speed on a PSU supposedly built to be pushed. I have to wonder how many people will find the 80mm fan too whiny, and turn it down too far.

If the fan controller is the way that Gigabyte did their Odin GT or Enermax did it it should be alright. As soon as it hits a certain internal temperature it kicks in to high speed automatically.

What a beast!!! I agree with lowfat that it should be fully modular. If psus keep getting bigger we'll soon have to use a 240v outlet. So much for energy conservation.

Well, PSUs are more efficient at 240v than they are at 110, so at least you'd have that....

I don't get it. Why include a 80mm fan when you can use a 120mm or 135mm fan? Anybody got an answer for that?

Because that's the way this PSU was designed.
