What actually happened with 3oh6? I only caught a quick comment that suggested he had major issues with his motherboard.

He killed his motherboard in the second round, and the rules stated that you could only swap hardware in the first round.

Thanks for all the words of encouragement guys!

The weekend went really well aside from the second round for me. I didn't actually bring any supplies as I was out in the middle of no where when I got the call to compete at GOOC this year. So I had a friend from Santa Clara bring down his setup for me to use. It was similar to the setup I run at home but not quite. In the end, I don't think my motherboard died, rather got moisture somewhere. I trouble shot it best I could but wasn't able to get it off 88 for POST code.

In the end, I had a chip that was capable of fighting for 3rd, and after the first round I should have been in 3rd all alone (I forgot to submit a slightly faster wPrime 32M). I just wasn't able to get any scores posted for the second round as in-between the two is when my board decided to take the afternoon off. That is just how competitions go. Mike Guava really deserves a hand for his second place finish. He killed a board, (flames, smoke, the works) in the first round and rallied to prep a second board in time to start round two. Even with a gimped CPU he held onto 2nd place.

Thanks again to Gigabyte and all competitors for another good weekend. One of these years I will be in position to properly prep for an event and make a placing. I hadn't benched since the ASUS event this year and it showed...I was out of benching shape, I literally got tired near the end of the day.

We're still proud of ya 3oh6, you were just tad bit unlucky.. You are still the Canadian champion, period.

Like they say, everyone has their day, this time it wasn't yours, but you will get your day to shine too.. So any pictures :D..

Honestly, it was a great showing by everyone. Seeing a Canadian flag in these events really makes me proud!

And I say they Gigabyte should give Jody an invite to Taipei just so he can flash that epic mustache one more time.
