I was looking to get a slider type phone myself. This looks nice and a hardware keyboard always felt more comfortable for me vs an on screen one. Will have to go and try one of these in person to get a feel for it.

From the limited time i had with it it seemed the it was less laggy

Hopefully you can view a website in less time then it takes to create one.

new OS, plus touch screen functions.. same hardware?!

I'm as intrigued as the rest but come on.. lets get some more screen real estate and some higher resolutions in there, and jack up some of the hardware power eh RIM? I really hope this OS 6 ain't a resource hog...

One word: meh.

I have been a BlackBerry user for years and I am sorry to see them going along with all the other sheep in the market. Give me a screen the size of the one on the Curve with a slide-out keyboard and I would have been happy. Give me something as large as that thing when it's unfolded and I avoid it like the plague.

Business users honestly don't need all these BS functions and touchy-feely things. We need compact and functional. RIM used to be able to provide those but now it looks like they are going to miss their core market once again.

I liked my old BB Curve for work - the keyboard was solid. All my friends have BB @ work, and now that I no longer have one - i'm out of touch.. things like planning a coffee run mid-day is harder. Yes, I can call them.. but being @ work at the time, they can't answer unless they have a free moment.. voicemail doesn't get answered, etc.

I would love to try out the new Torch - waiting for reviews to see how good/bad the new OS is. I could care less about the size flipped out, but hope it has more multimedia functionality + web browsing ability like other HTC/iPhones.

It's not like they only sell one device.
I'm sure they'll still sell phones with the same functionality they had 5yrs ago.
