8/16x AA on an HD5970 was getting me around 1FPS at the menu. I couldn't even play w/ 2x AA @ 2560x1440 w/ highest settings.

OK, so people were kvetching about ATI not having the feature from the get-go, yet now they're claiming that ATI is 'following' in nVidia's footsteps, and/or shouldn't have bothered with this despite the complaints. I guess certain individuals just have nothing better do.

If something exists, somebody will find a way to bitch about it.

With that said, at least ATI is letting people have the option of AA in SC2. Better than nothing, even if it works like crap it may satisfy somebody with dual 5970's or something.

actually tried it yesterday, using 8xAA on 1900x1020 resolution with xfire HD5850 and fps doesn't go below 60.
other specs are it 750 @4.2ghz and 4gb ddr3-1600...

Hmmm given the conflicting info here, I wonder if there's issues for the 5970's specifically? Or perhaps 5970's in quad-fire setup? (Or are you not running those in quad lowfat?)

I am just using 1 HD5970. I've tried different modes of AA as well. Everything causes it to move at a crawl. I can't even launch an actual game because the menu is so slow and unresponsive.
