But what about the benchmark comparing the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow?
African or European, your choice..

I'm a huge Intel fan, and a huge Nvidia fan, but this weird childish shouting match these two companies have had going for ages now is extremely childish and pathetic.

How about taking all this energy to work together and make better products/drivers where both the GPU and CPU complement each other more efficiently? Surely that would help their bottom line much more than this constant bickering over something that practically nobody gives a shit about.

I suspect press releases like these are intended for consumption by potential investors as opposed to techheads and/or the regular consumer.

As far as sparrows go..... what altitude are we talking about, and direction of travel relative to the local trade winds?

Did you just forget money? It's all about the money they can make. nVIDIA, with FERMI/TESLA GPGPU, tries to steal Intel's thunder.

If it works, the CPU could MAYBE end up being reliquished to the role of a "sort-of" glorified southbridge (in GPGPU applications only....).

AMD/ATI does the same...but they sell both CPUs and GPUs. They are in a good situation, especially if they can keep their GPU performance up and increase their CPU power.

FireStream 9370, 9350 bring Cypress computing to servers - The Tech Report

Intel would like to own nVIDIA to do the same...

Yes but the REALLY important question to get you across the bridge and past the bridgekeeper is: Is it "An African or European swallow?". :)~

Unlike this intel vs nv FUD flinging contest....THAT is a question inquiring minds want to know the answer to!

What time of year was the coconut harvested? That will have an affect on total weight because of the amount of liquid inside.......

cpus are losing indeed performance wise in some areas, been losing for a while

altough you can cram a crap load into a multi socket board. whats next is for gpu style cpus to pop up, so you just fit it in a socket just liek a cpu. thats crazy power when you count then numbers
