Is it worth going from a 930 to a 950 though? I mean, the 930 can overclock as far as the 950 can - can it not?

Your E758 will support every LGA1366 CPU out there. Intel basically mandated universal LGA1366 compatibility for all X58 boards with the only thing necessary being a BIOS update at the most.

Definitely good news for me. Was debating whether or not to go for a 930 instead of a 920 for a new build this fall, but this development might just make it a moot point. Now if Intel's 25nm flash would hurry up and start showing itself...

I7 970 Hex Core around the corner.....Internet retail hints have put it at around $600 - $700....likely why thiers a big drop in 950's coming down the pipe......

No not really worth it from a clock for clock standpoint.
However, in the grand sceme of things I can pass on the older 930, and Crucial Ram to another board and my wife can run that, while i Use the newer 950.

@ Zero - That's what I figured , although I guess I'm still sore about the whole LGA775 stuff and compatibility so I worry.
