I would love it if my GTX 480's were 7c cooler.

Without overly changing the stock cooler, 7C is massive IMO. IMO, this will definitely win some fans for EVGA in the system integrator market.

That's true but there is something other.
First : If only a little design change in the IO area + a backplate can change this much why have Nvidia not do it...Cheap shot from them.
Second : It's a good call from EVGA that show how they are in the innovation now but 7C is not enough to make this card a better card. If they really want the card to oustand they have to get it to the level we see for the last few years from Nvidia.

Again good call from EVGA, if they can fix what nvidia fail to do then GO EVGA!!!!

two design changes; a high-flow PCI-E bracket and a heat-dissipating backplate.
Sounds like something that can be sold as a kit. Also why didn't Nvidia engineers made a high-flow PCI-E bracket, bigger holes is a pretty low-tech solution.

Agree They use the exact same for GTX 260 280 65Nm and these card were so sexy. I wonder why they remove it on the 55Nm version...but she is now back! and for the good

Because they didn't need it any more and it let them save money.

I know that zero Sometime you have to read between line. I was meaning that it was cool and the card was nice looking with it. In a system it's way better looking with a black and red big E backplate.

I think its pretty impressive shaving off 7c without doing too many drastic changes (and cost hopefully).

Man ... I'd love to see Sapphire slap their Vapor-X cooler on the 470 and 480 and see the results.
