Default BFG Leaves GPU Market, to Focus on PSUs & Laptops / PCs

It's a sad day folks.

Hey you ugly Canuck at least leave my comments from my thread if you deleted it.

Edit Arinoth: Here you go

I guess that nVidia killed them with Fermi-mania and they don't want to jump on ATI boat (maybe for a comeback someday with nVidia again).
I'm curious what are those few new products because their PSU's are not a market killer (despite they're good) and gaming systems? Who want them?
I see dark clouds for BFG. At least on short term.

There's a hammer coming your way...

Sad news about BFG... one less company with a reliable product + warranty...

Guess we can deem FERMI not that much of a success if its forcing one company out of the game

Interesting move. Moving to ATI by offering lifetime warranty in competition with XFX would've been a better move IMO

I knew it was coming. They've been near non-existent for the past couple of months with regards to retailers' stock of the GTX2** series and lack of Fermi. Ah well, they were good while they lasted.

I agree with this. They'd probably be raking in the sales if they kept stock up because we all know how much everyone likes an XFX ATI card, and that's mainly just due to the warranty.

That's too bad for nVidia buyers, at least they still have EVGA's for good warranty cards. I didn't even realize that BFG made notebooks, but having just checked them out they seem too overpriced and I think they'd have been better served by jumping ship to ATI (assuming ATI would agree to it). Maybe things will change in a couple years again though.

Not happy to hear this, I've always been happy with their cards and warranties.

As I have been telling the staff, BFG going with ATI would not and SHOULD NOT happen at this point. NVIDIA made the mistake at the end of the 1990's to accept far too many board partners into the mix which strained their supply channels all the way until cutting some of them off over the last 1-2 years.

ATI has several VERY good partners here in North America (XFX, et all) of which some already offer lifetime warranties and decent customer support. What would BFG have added other than to strain ATI's supply to other board partners?
