It will show "Beta" but you'll notice a few visual cues to show its been changed to 2.0 like a link in the upper right that says "old version"

I'm not seeing a link to old version. So I must still be on the old version.

LOL, I can see BOTH Gmail Beta Icon in the right corner AND in the left I see the "older version" text when I log into Gmail. I clicked on the "older version" option and besides refreshing the screen and changing "older" to "newer" there doesn't seem to be much difference. Definitely nothing that jumps out and makes your go "WTF??....Oh its a newer version...cool...and here I thought Google was taking the piss again"

They've improved and sped up the backend which works a lot smoother and faster and allows them to integrate and update gmail easier.

Contact list has been much improved and opening emails is MUCh faster for me.
