Default NVIDIA GeForce GTX 400 Series Getting to Consumers Early

While NVIDIA is claiming April 12th as the day for broad retail availability date for the GTX 400 series, we have confirmation that minute quantities of the cards will be making their way to consumers today. NVIDIA began shipping retail boards to partners last week, so those with the quickest production turn around times have already begun shipping... [ Read full article ]

Can't wait. Just in time for the finish of classes, too. I may have to get the girlfriend to hide the box for the weekend after next so I can study for exams.

Folks having trouble trying to get it to fold on the Evga forums. Not a 'GPU3' thing, but most likely a folding core issue, or another issue with the driver install or corrupted F@H install. Leaning toward a core update issue though.

I'm looking for a GTX 470 in retail in my area so I can try it out anyways. If I can get one, I'll nuke my Windows install and start fresh just to make sure. If it is a core issue, then I'll hopefully be ready to see what it can do asap.

Just a reminder. Fermi architecture was supposed to be released in November of 2009, or so Nvidia told us. Calling an April launch "early" is completely ridiculous. Even by Nvidia's standards.

Thanks for signing in as a guest and giving us the reminder. You've definitely convinced me to cancel my GTX 470 pre-order. I mean, who in their right mind would ever order a product that was late? ATI 4 life.
