I think at this price it's really gonna put some strain on Intel, hell i am thinking about getting one at those prices. just wow. but from early benchmarks i have read this is still slower then a 920 i7 in most cases.

knowing amd chips are weaker than intel in folding, id still get a lower clocked version when it comes out

edit...looks like the slower one will be available too..hmm...200 bucks us..plus 40-50 more because were in ca nada

What benchmarks? I've been looking. I ordered one this morning.

Really curious to know if X6 will be able to do -bigadv on time....

6 cores at 3ghz or better....im ready to flip a coin. ppd wont be much to, i think. now if you are able to get 6 cores at 3.5ghz or more..then its another matter. low tdp should mean good clocks.

I find this interesting:

Phenom II X4 960T: 3.0 GHz/ 3.4GHz / 95w

That's a 95w processor that goes to 965 levels when it needs to. That sounds pretty nice to me.

Do they support AM2+ motherboard or it's only AM3?

jcmaz April 2, 2010 10:42 PM

I think AM2+ and AM3 because the X6's have both the DDR2 and DDR3 controller... but i hope they will work on AM2 boards too.
