Default NVIDIA GTX 480 & GTX 470 Pre-Sale Numbers Show Promise

Retailers report pre-sales of NVIDIA's newest Fermi-based graphics cards are going well.

The other day, we brought you the unfortunate story of XFX ditching both the GTX 480 and GTX 470 from their line-up but now it's time for some welcome news for NVIDIA.

That is great to hear. Of course since my local place is not doing pre-orders (at least not yet) I have to hope they have a 470 for me on the 12th.

I'm not sure how they are handling pre orders but I'd like to know. Normally they take all the orders they can and fill them whenever they get stock. I ordered a EVGA 480 from them right away so we'll see....hope I get it.

r0bc, what time were they made available at Ncix? I placed my pre-order at 9:30pm, and I'm worried I could be late for the first batch.

I placed my pre-order for a GTX 470 just earlier today. However, I went with PNY knowing the EVGA line would be long. Zotac would also be a good choice going by that strategy.

I just placed my PRE-order for a eVGA GTX470 Superclocked (NCIX).
I assume a lot of people would settle for a "vanilla" GTX470 then OC to superclocked, but there might be a few more chances to get one higher priced quicker (or so is my reasoning).
I'm done with the review reading. Settled for Team green again. I realise that eVGA might have a longer "lineup" for pre-order, but I already own 2 eVGAs and have always been satisfied. Make me feel better lolz.
