FYI, the above setup (3x2 displays) is not meant for gaming at all. For gaming a 3x1, 5x1 or 3x3 setup is far better, as the center of focus is never within displays (always an odd number wide + tall).

Id actually consider getting the eyefinity6 version of this someday, as I've never seen 5x1 portrait... and i want too (Yes, I've seen/tried 3x3 before, lol)

You can get the same performance of this card just by overclocking a regular 5970. The extra 2GB of RAM aren't going to boost framerates by any noticeable amount. This is mostly a marketing gimmick. 5970's are already able run at 5870 stock speeds. They're just underclocked to fit in the 300w spec.

Idunno about that, I'd believe someone with three 30" monitors in Eyefinity would probably benefit from the extra RAM.

I remember when XFX had a 8800GTX Ultra that was around $800 or so. And that was what maybe 3 or 4 years ago?

@fishingfanatic: I think you're confusing your two "Regular" XFX 5970 2Gb Black editions with this monster that uses a non-standard heatsink and 4Gb. Trust me, if this one was even out I'd know about it (I've been searching, lol).

No confusion here. Simply saying that I got 2 regular blacks, and they're fantastic, just couldn't imagine what a pair of these puppies would cost or benchmark under crossfire. Maybe a 1600 w psu might run these. Corsair 1200 might.PC Perspective - ASUS ARES Graphics Card is true dual HD 5870 goodness
