So ah if it is still in the box let's say someone just handed it over to me and you claim someone stole it but don't know who:)

LOL my thoughts exactly.

Anyway, I have "expectations" in regards with the GTX470 and I can't wait to read your review SKY!!!
That will determine if I keep my GTX260 (I'm using 1680 X 1050 res. only) or get a GTX470, OR switch to team red and get an XFX HD5870.

Lol NCIX doesn't have much HD5800s from XFX and ASUS lately! They got the Gigabytes, Powercolor, HIS and Diamond (NO THANKS).

But Gigabyte makes really good motherboards, how are their GFX cards??? 3 years warranty is not too bad...like ASUS. Doesn't beat XFX tho.

So they're NOT stocking on popular HD5870s (not expecting lots of sales obviously)???
If they want to give the enthusiasts OPTIONS the day the FERMIs hit the ground, they might as well either stock up on the "top-tier" AMD/ATI cards...

OR it means FERMIs will be in stock at reasonable price and they're expecting to sell quite a few.

At that resolution, I think it would be pretty pointless to upgrade your video card at the moment. There's nothing that will really stress a GTX260 at that res.

Well,

The card is fine. But I just installed Win 7 64bits and now BFBC2 runs in DX10 (or so I assume). Graphics at HIGH and I get 50-65 FPS steady, so it's playable and without jerkiness. In XP, the card was faster 75-80FPS at MAX. Now, with Win7 and a new card I could benefit from DX11 (I never bothered to get Vista/DX10 at the time), so it's a 2 generations Direct X I'm trying to make. I have a buyer for my GTX260, that a good point.

But yes, as my Samsung T220 (22") monitor is 1680 X 1080, and I have no plans to get a bigger screen, I'm on the line here...I could wait a few weeks for FERMI to come down in price and to "reveal" itself fully by letting early adopters report on it's real advantages/lack of.

I just think that the next Graphics card I get will probably be my last one for this actual build (see sig). After that, I won't put any cash on computer parts for around two years (lol sounds like New year's day resolution). I'll go with a 2 X 6pins PCI-E GFX card, as I won't upgrade my PSU for this...

BUT, my P5Q PRO is "crossfire" capable, maybe the logical upgrade path would be to get a HD5870 and grab another one + a 4 X 6pins PCI-E capable 750-800W PSU later down the road???

C'mon FERMI show up and IMPRESS me.

Your current PSU would be enough for 5870 Crossfire.
