are you gone have bench with a 5870 too, as I don't thing the 5970 is the typical card peoples buy, I means it's expensives, and the 5850 and 5770 are probably not in the same leagues

metro 2003, a games taylor for the Fermi, the only one who can use physx.

I can't wait for Friday even though I won't be getting any 400 series GTX cards in the near future. I love the direction in which nVidia is taking their development and although I'm usually the kind of person who gets bored with anything I can't hold in my hands, I found Sky's GF100 article a fascinating read. I'm quite new to the scene but it seems to me while ATI is more market oriented and more business savvy, nVidia's doing the more innovative stuff. I wouldn't say I'm in either team for that reason; ATI seems the more practical choice to me but nVidia's the manufacturer I'd probably rather work for or whose products I'd want to play with more.

Trust me SKY knows what he is doing and will bench multiple cards and multiple games. He at least has some time to do testing unlike previous releases where he only gets the card 24hrs before NDA is lifted.

I am guessing that there will be a review for the 470 and 480 out Friday. I am guessing it will have the 5850, 5870, 5970, 470, 480, 295, and GTX 285. Also SKY will benchmark at least 5 games so MarkOne don't worry.

metro 2003, a games taylor for the Fermi, the only one who can use physx.
The list of cards looks like this:

HD 5970
HD 5870
HD 5850
HD 5830 (not included in the Metro 2033 or Unigine 2.0 charts)
GTX 480
GTX 470
GTX 295
GTX 285
GTX 275

As for the "Metro 2033 was made for the Fermi". The same thing can be said about Dirt 2 and AvP since both were highly touted by ATI. Plus, ATI cards perform VERY well in Metro 2033.

By that logic, we shouldn't use DiRT 2, since it was tailor-made for the HD 5000 series.

EDIT: Ninja'd (that's what the kids say, right?)

Markone, your PhysX argument is getting old. It is easy enough to pop in a 8800GT/9600GT for physics with an ATI card under Windows 7 so the performance gains from running purely a Nvidia solution can be overcome.

NINJA EDIT: You guys beat me to it, lol.

Can't wait for the review.

I have a question for you Sky, from the results you have already, how much of a bottleneck do you think a Core 2 Duo on a P35 chipset would be for these new cards?

This "made for NVIDIA" debate is especially ironic considering no one seems to bring up ATI's demotion of standard FP16 render targets to simpler R11 G11 B10 targets in games like Empire: Total War, NFS: Shift, Dawn of War 2 and Dragon Age: Origins.
